Hekalyce is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist whose practice encompasses the creation of monumental sculptures, sculptures, installations, videos, documentaries, drawings, and photographs, offering a rich and varied exploration of her creative universe. Prior to delving into the art world, Hekalyce pursued studies in literature, audiovisual, and digital media at the Sorbonne and the National Institute of Audiovisual. These studies formed the academic foundation that nourished her artistic approach, providing a multidimensional perspective in her creative approach.
Her artistic journey began as a self-taught artist, exploring various mediums and techniques to refine her artistic voice. A pivotal turning point in her path occurred in 2010 when she met Christian Grisinger in Montreuil. Under the guidance of this renowned artist and designer, she was introduced to metal and wood sculpture, leaving a mark through numerous public commissions and large-scale collaborative and solidarity-based projects. The creation of the Initiatives Solidaires Creation Workshops in Aubervilliers is a testament to his commitment to projects with significant social impact.
In Christian Grisinger's workshop, Hekalyce honed her skills in monumental sculpture, integrating elements of design and social engagement into her work. This experience laid the foundation for her subsequent involvement in the Vaisseau collective, a collaborative fusion of artists, architects, and designers. Together, they created a body of monumental works and urban furniture, contributing to the transformation and beautification of public spaces.
Hekalyce's work is infused with a unique sensibility, blending contemporary aesthetics, technical innovation, social and ecological reflection. Her commitment to collective and solidarity projects reflects her deep conviction that art is a means to catalyze change and enrich collective life. Today, Hekalyce remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of artistic creation, exploring new paths, and inspiring through her versatility and dedication in an artistic practice that transcends disciplinary conventions.
